Samantha Sills

I am Sam! I have been practicing yoga for almost 20 years and have been teaching for 6. I started practicing yoga while in high school as a recovery tool for rowing and it quickly became a great way for me to find some peace. I have continued to use yoga as a recovery tool for sports and I credit my longevity in competitive and recreational sports to yoga.
I completed my teacher training in Rishikesh, India and that gave my practice the depth it needed. I am grateful for the 7 limbs of yoga and the balance they have given me in my life. I am also grateful that I get to share my practice with others. I went to school to be a teacher and now work in higher education and am grateful for these skills that I now transfer to teaching yoga.
I look forward to practicing with you!

Reset, Restore, and Deeply Stretch Feeling tight, tense, or in need of deep relaxation? This class begins with a calming Slow Flow to gently open the body, then transitions into Yin Yoga to allow for long-held stretches that release tension and bring balance to your system.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Deep muscle and joint release
  • Increased flexibility and mobility
  • Nervous system reset and stress relief
  • A stronger mind-body connection

We start with slow, dynamic movements to awaken the body, followed by 2-4 minute holds that target connective tissues, offering deep restorative benefits. Whether you're an athlete, a new yogi, or someone seeking profound relaxation, this class will leave you feeling renewed and at peace.

Paty Hinojosa

I started my practice in 2010, never imagining I’d become a yoga teacher. Through the years I found myself wanting to deepen my practice. In 2018, I completed my 200 hour training at Detroit Yoga Lab and furthered my practice with a mentorship there in 2019.

I began teaching at the studio in January, 2020. I love being able to share this practice that has helped me so much. My goal is to help students have fun while they explore their yoga practice.

I was introduced to somatic movement practices while studying dance at Interlochen Arts Academy in 2016. Yoga became a fundamental conditioning practice to supplement my dance training throughout high school and college. Then, in my final year of college at Wayne State I felt an intense urge to deepen my knowledge of yogic teachings and philosophy. That’s when I was called to take Naomi Gold’s Yoga Teacher Training here at DYL where yoga became much more of a spiritual, meditative practice for me beyond a physical one. This is the experience I would like to share as I enter my journey of teaching yoga. To give everyone who enters my class a chance to connect with themselves more deeply, and in doing so deepening their connection with the world around them. A goal of mine is to make this practice more accessible to people from all backgrounds and walks of life. Everyone deserves to breathe and move their bodies. Movement is life! Breath is life <3

Tim Clark

My journey began in the most unlikely of places, on the road with my band. As a young, stressed out, musician/band manager I routinely burned the candle at both ends. That is until I was introduced to my first yoga class. It was in Santa Monica,California and as corny as it sounds, it completely changed my life. As we traveled, I would seek out the local yoga studios to attend and found myself devoting down time to the practice and study of the science behind this art of yoga.

And, as fate would have it, as I transitioned from my touring life, I dedicated my time to attending seminars, workshops and even teaching classes for a growing group of friends and fellow yogi's. I taught in summer programs, at charter and public schools, senior facilities, special needs schools, dance studios, and at my own yoga studio inside of a Lutherian church (The Underground Yoga Studio). So, by the time I attended my first yoga teacher training, I had several years of valuable experience under my belt. I say all this to say, I've been a part of this community for almost twenty five years and what I've learned is that the struggle is definitely real, but through hard work and dedication the blessings will teach us how to heal. Namaste
