Elin Waterston
Elin started Ballet lessons at age three and has been dancing ever since. She went on to study many other styles of dance including Jazz, Lyrical, Theater Dance, Highland Dance, Latin, Ballroom, Pole Dance and Bellydance.
In 2008 Elin began practicing yoga and it became an important complement to her dancing – each discipline improving the other. This led her to become a 200HR RYT Vinyasa Yoga Instructor.
Elin’s practice is built on an understanding of anatomy and alignment and seeks to create space, both in the body and the mind. Intrigued by the concept of combining elements of dance, yoga and aerial arts, she decided to try aerial fitness. Her feet left the ground and it was love at first flight! Elin enjoys the feeling of freedom and joyfulness that aerial yoga provides and is happy to share her love of being upside down. Elin is also an Om Factory Certified Aerial Yoga Instructor, Fly Gym Aerial Fitness® Instructor / Master Trainer, Climb&Spin® Pole Dance Instructor and Ballroom Dance Instructor.

Class begins with micro movements, mobility patterns and fascia fitness to unwind stiffness and pain, and to allow for structural imbalances to become more supple.
We then engage in deep core toning and traditional yoga asanas with the intention to connect all limbs into the center axis. We move, tone and engage our muscles without creating more tension and sticky fascia.
This class is perfect for those who wish to connect their mind, body, and nervous system while staying tone, buoyant and supple while aging dynamically.

Please join me on a six week journey into the somatic movement modality of Gentle Somatic Yoga.
Gentle Somatic Yoga ™(GSY) was created by James Knight, E-RYT, CHSE.
This modality incorporates somatic movement patterns which are slow, mindful and designed to increase mind/body awareness in order to help heal the body and mind from chronic pain and dysfunctional movement patterns.
Instead of stretching muscles, GSY utilizes the technique of pandiculation to reprogram muscles to their optimal length in a resting position.
The restorative sequences, called Somatic Movement Flow™are ideal for unwinding stiffness, pain, and postural imbalances, and dramatically increase flexibility through brain-to-muscle re-education.
Investment:
One Workshop $150.00/ 6 sessions.
Two Workshops $270.00/12 Sessions
Tesitmonials:
WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT GENTLE SOMATIC WORKSHOP
"I was having a lot of shoulder pain going into the class. I have been doing acupuncture for the last few weeks and together with the class, I am much improved. My pain has lessened and overall I'm doing a lot better. Even my breathing has improved! "
"After just six weeks I was able to release most of the chronic tension in my low back. As a result, I can focus on strengthening that area and release the focus on the discomfort"
"Thank you also for leading us through this workshop. You are a fantastic teacher and the exercises you teach are so simple and amazing. What is most impressive is that the benefit is marked and one can see it immediately".
