Move With Studio’s Reformer Foundation class is suitable for both beginners and those wanting to brush up on the basics and their form. This class is still challenging, but at an accommodating pace so that clients can get a better understanding of the Pilates Principles. This class helps each student learn how to effectively engage and work their “core,” gain full body strength, and move in correct alignment. Class sizes are small so that each client can get individualized attention and modifications where necessary.
Rachel Parker
Rachel teaches Pilates in group classes and individual sessions. She’s passionate about the healing qualities of movement to reduce pain, improve function and increase happiness. She sees injuries and limitations not as roadblocks but rather as puzzles to be explored with courage and compassion. Rachel’s been teaching in the East Bay since 2014 and has completed the Balanced Body Comprehensive Teacher Training. She recently became an Authorized Scolio-Pilates® Practitioner and is also offering sessions in scoliosis-specific exercises. A former professional dancer and broadcast journalist, she now spends a lot of free time cheering at her teenage son’s lacrosse games.

Join our Spine Strength Class, specifically designed for individuals who wish to exercise while maintaining a neutral spine. This class is particularly beneficial for those dealing with conditions like Osteoporosis, Scoliosis, herniated discs, stenosis, fusions, or other issues that may be aggravated by traditional flexion or extension movements.
Class Focus:
Our primary goal is to stabilize and strengthen the body in optimal alignment.
We begin with breathing techniques and gentle mobilization exercises to achieve ideal neutral alignment, focusing on the optimal placement of the pelvis and head. While we may introduce some gentle flexion and extension movements, these will be executed without additional loads such as body weight or spring tension.
The core of our class focuses on enhancing strength through Reformer exercises targeting essential muscle groups: the abdominals, gluteals, and back.
Level 1-2:
We offer modifications and options to introduce varying levels of challenge and load to accommodate your individual needs and progress.
Whether you're an experienced practitioner or new to exercise, our Spine Strength Class provides a supportive environment to enhance your strength and stability while prioritizing safety and alignment. Join us to strengthen your spine and improve your overall well-being!
