This calm and relaxing yoga class is based on the principles of Yoga Therapy. It is made especially for those who may have certain special conditions and injuries that prevent them from flowing more quickly through the postures. The class includes but is not limited to: standing postures, seated postures, gentle stretches, balance work, strength and core stability, breath work, relaxation techniques, self massage techniques. This class requires you are able to get up and down from the floor at least twice during class, either with or without a support bench. If you're new to Pilates machines or you've already been through an orientation or a few private sessions but it's been a hot minute, you are welcome to join this session! This 4 week series is for anyone wanting to try out the reformer with other beginners. In this session, you can totally bypass the orientation or any private sessions and go straight into a group! We will start from scratch, move slowly, and learn all of the basics as we progress through the essential exercises which provide core strength, flexibility, and stability. Reformer helps correct muscular imbalances and muscle compensation, leading to reduced pain, more efficient movement, and greater mobility!
