This calm and relaxing yoga class is based on the principles of Yoga Therapy. It is made especially for those who may have certain special conditions and injuries that prevent them from flowing more quickly through the postures. The class includes but is not limited to: standing postures, seated postures, gentle stretches, balance work, strength and core stability, breath work, relaxation techniques, self massage techniques. This class requires you are able to get up and down from the floor at least twice during class, either with or without a support bench. This class uses a specialized hammock and helps you flip, swing, decompress and massage your way to better health and fitness. We go upside down in this class. Not recommended for those with motion sickness, vertigo, very high or very low blood pressure, osteoporosis, hip replacements, glaucoma or other disorders. Most of this class is performed standing with a light touch on a Barre attached to the wall. We will perform squats, pliés, wall push ups, and various abdominal work while maintaining good stability and functional movement. This Barre class is Pilates-based and it is recommended to try the reformer first to ensure proper understanding of body movement and to build strength, preventing injury.

Want better strength and stability and a stronger and healthier looking physique? If so, join TRX! This class uses suspended straps that hang from the ceiling. Either your hands or feet are on the floor at all times. A little more athletic feel than Reformer, TRX still provides a total body workout, with a similar core stability-based training method. A New Student Orientation OR prior instructor approval is typically recommended before attending this class.
