Sukha Hatha Yoga (All Levels)

Nathan Holden

The Yoga Channel • Oxnard, CA

Sukha means easy, joy, or bliss and Hatha means forceful. When taken together with Yoga it means a practice that is undertaken with ease, that will forcefully bring about change to one's life. This class is as easy or as hard as you make it. Having a great day, feeling up for a challenge? Then do the harder versions of the poses that are shown. Feeling like you have a little less gas in the tank? Then do the easier versions of poses that are shown. Each class begins with basic pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation, to prepare the body and mind, and then moves on to seated poses, standing poses that are held for 1-2 minutes each, balance practice, then back to the floor for back and hip openers. By strengthening the weak muscles of the body, and stretching out what's tight, we bring ourselves back into healthy balance. Each class draws inspiration from Yoga philosophy and Sanskrit wisdom to bring additional purpose to our practice.

Nathan Holden

Nathan began practicing yoga in 2004, while studying holistic massage, at the Ojai School of Massage. He has integrated yoga, breathing techniques, and stretching principles into his massage practice. He began leading yoga classes in 2009, and completed his yoga teacher training course with Maribeth Hammond at the Yoga Channel in March 2013. Nathan brings a working knowledge of anatomy and physiology into his teaching style, which draws inspiration from Hatha, Yin, and Iyengar Yoga. Nathan is also co-owner of The Yoga Channel, with his partner Amber running the studio from behind the scenes.

Slow Vinyasa Flow

Alyssabeth Knerr

The Yoga Channel • Oxnard, CA

This vinyasa flow class begins with guided breathing and grounding to cultivate mindful awareness and arrive in the present moment. This class integrates breath, movement, and meditation, and incorporates the traditional poses of a vinyasa class, with the intention to slow down amidst the rhythms of everyday life and find balance in body, mind, and spirit. This practice is adaptable and accessible for all levels of experience. Join this class to reconnect with yourself and find joy in movement, and community.

Alyssabeth Knerr

Alyssabeth is a yoga teacher, travel-lover, retreat leader and writer. She is Founder of Om Your Own Way Yoga & Co-Founder of Empowered Soul Retreats. She was lucky enough to be introduced to yoga in middle school, through a family friend who opened a yoga studio. She began practicing restorative yoga and became fascinated with the way breath control practices, particularly ujjayi pranayama, could have such an immense impact on reducing stress and anxiety.

The spiritual practice of yoga became a guiding force in her life early on. During college, she deepened her study of both yoga philosophy and Buddhism. Simultaneously, she developed a love for vinyasa flow and yin yoga.

She is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500), Warriors at Ease Certified Teacher, and iRest Level 1 meditation instructor. She recently relocated to the Oxnard area, after living and teaching yoga in Santa Clarita.

When she’s not practicing yoga, leading retreats, or writing poetry, she’s likely camping, hiking, and enjoying nature with her spouse and puppy, Jaxon, any chance she gets!

Types of private yoga classes I offer: vinyasa flow, therapeutic, restorative, chair yoga, iRest yoga nidra meditation, and more.

Kundalini Yoga

Tereza Clark

The Yoga Channel • Oxnard, CA

Kundalini Yoga is one of the most rapidly effective yoga practices. It awakens and develops the Navel Point, which is the center for balance, focus, and power. This area is where the Kundalini energy is stored. Once your Kundalini energy is stimulated, it moves through the tissues of the body, balancing the endocrine and nervous systems, the Chakras, and the Electromagnetic field. The practice is safe for all levels and beginners are welcome.

Tereza Clark

Tereza was born in Czechoslovakia and made her way to the United States in 2001. She has always been interested in Mind, Body, and Soul healing work. She received her first Reiki Session in 2014 and recognized that a door of expansion had opened for her. Soon after, she began a daily Yoga Practice and completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2019 with The Yoga Channel. Tereza was reintroduced to Kundalini Yoga during a surgery recovery and decided to pursue it as her passion.
